The Central Mountain Search and Rescue Team responds to calls for help in the San Bernardino Mountain area as well as all parts of the state. The team is made up of volunteers from all walks of life including: teachers, doctors, engineers, businessmen, and deputies.
The San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department founded the Central Search and Rescue team in 1958 in response to a growing need for rescue services and to reduce the strain on the the law enforcement resources of the department.
We train one weekend a month as a team and several times a year at department sponsored events.
Central Search and Rescue has been recently involved in the wildfires and in the search for mudslide victims in the local mountains.
